The artist
B-ART Starman is about manifestation: giving inner ideas a form, with the Starman as the signature of the person who brings them into the world.
For me, the B stands for Manifestation: the moment when something inner becomes visible in the world. That meaning is personal, but it is rooted in the older symbolism of Beth/Bet, meaning “house,” and in its associations with containment, duality and creation. In B-ART, the B therefore represents the space in which an idea can take form, while ART is the act of bringing that form into existence. The figure replacing the A is the Starman: my personal symbol, linked to my name and to the human figure standing between imagination and the created work. The Starman is also the signature I place beneath my works, making the logo both a name and a mark of authorship.
Mission
My mission is simple: I want to make my world a better place, and inspire others to do the same.
I do that by employing, supporting and mentoring people. Through my art, I share a glimpse of how I see, feel and experience the world around me.
I try to look at ordinary things with the wonder and curiosity of a child seeing them for the first time, and turn them into small works of art.
A simple mission, but not an easy one.
The boundary that lets the invisible take form
The letter B is a symbol of manifestation.
Historically, B traces back to the ancient Semitic letter Beth, meaning house. A house creates a boundary: an inside and an outside. Symbolically, that boundary is what allows something to exist as a distinct form.
B is also the second letter. One can represent unity; two introduces distinction. Self and other. Light and dark. Inner and outer. Spirit and matter. That duality may look like separation, but it also makes relationship, experience and transformation possible.
So B can be seen as the movement from the invisible into the visible.
First there is possibility.Then a boundary appears.Within that boundary, something can develop.What was formless takes form.What was hidden becomes visible.
This is why the symbolism of B connects naturally with the house, the womb, the vessel and birth. They all describe the same archetypal process: something is contained, transformed and eventually brought into existence.
In Hebrew tradition, this symbolism becomes even stronger. Bet is the second letter, and the Torah begins with Bet in Bereshit, “In the beginning.” Symbolically, creation begins with the creation of a space in which existence can appear.
So the deeper story of B is not simply “two” or “house.” It is:
Unity becomes distinction.Distinction creates a boundary.The boundary creates a space.Within that space, possibility becomes form.

The act of manifestation
Art is exactly this process made visible. Something that initially exists only as sensation, memory, imagination, fear, beauty, confusion or intuition is given a boundary. It becomes a drawing, a shape, a colour, an object or an image. Something from an inner world crosses into the outer world.
In that sense, B and ART belong together.
B is the possibility of manifestation.ART is the act of manifestation.
There is another layer hidden in B-ART: it contains Bart, but separating it as B-ART reveals something that the ordinary name conceals. It can even be read as “be art.” The pseudonym therefore becomes not only a name but almost an instruction: don’t merely produce art; allow the distinction between artist and artwork to become less absolute.

Between the infinite and the finite
Starman is personal because it refers back to the family name, but symbolically it also takes the idea beyond the individual artist. The star belongs to something vastly larger than one human life, while the man is physical, temporary and grounded. Starman therefore occupies the space between the two: between the cosmic and the human, the infinite and the finite, what cannot be contained and the individual who tries to give part of it form.
And that is precisely what an artist does.
The artist stands somewhere between an inner universe that cannot fully be explained and the limited material available to express it.

Originality, inspiration and AI
Everything here is made by me. Nothing is made in a vacuum.
I see things, and they come back in my work: sometimes directly, sometimes without my noticing. Sometimes that is a landscape or a mushroom; sometimes it is another artist's drawing. I use AI too, not only for the visuals of this site but as inspiration and as a partner to think with. I would rather say that out loud than pretend otherwise. Full transparency and full disclosure is what I strive for, with respect for every artist and creator in the world. If you recognise your work in mine, write to me. We will talk, and I will make it right.
Originality and authorship. All works of art shown and offered on this site are original works created by B-ART STARMAN and are protected by copyright under the Dutch Copyright Act (Auteurswet), the Berne Convention and the applicable laws of other countries. Unless stated otherwise, the artist is the sole author and holder of the rights in these works.
Inspiration. Like all art, these works are made in dialogue with the world. They may be inspired by things the artist has seen, sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly, and this may include other works of art, drawings, images and designs by others. Where another work has been a source of inspiration, the resulting work is an independent, transformative creation of the artist. No work on this site is intended to copy, reproduce or imitate the protected work of any other person, and no infringement of any third party's rights is intended.
Notice and response. The artist respects the intellectual property of all artists and creators. If you believe that a work on this site infringes a copyright or other right that you hold, please contact the artist through this page, stating which work is concerned, the work you believe it infringes, and your name and contact details. Every such notice is examined in good faith and answered without undue delay. Where a claim is justified, the artist will take appropriate action, which may include changing the work, taking it offline, crediting the source or reaching another agreement with the rights holder.
Use of artificial intelligence. The artist is transparent about the use of AI tools. AI has been used in creating the visual presentation of this website and its moving gallery, and the artist also uses AI as a source of inspiration and as a conversation partner in developing ideas. The physical works themselves (drawings and paintings) are made by hand by the artist. Where AI has had a direct part in the making of a specific work, this is stated with that work.
Rights of visitors and buyers. The purchase of an original or a print transfers ownership of that physical object only. It does not transfer the copyright or any licence to reproduce, distribute, publicly display or create derivative works, except for private, non-commercial use. Images on this site may not be used without the artist's prior written permission.
No waiver, governing law. Nothing in this notice waives any right of the artist. This notice is governed by Dutch law. It is written in good faith and is not a substitute for legal advice; the artist reserves the right to amend it.

Every original is a unique, signed work. Prices include VAT and exclude shipping, which is shown before you pay. An order is confirmed by email. Originals are shipped within 5 working days; prints are made to order and shipped by the print studio within 7 working days.
The copyright of every work stays with the artist. Buying an original or a print gives no right to reproduce it.

Originals are packed flat or in a tube and sent tracked and insured. Within the EU you may return an original within 14 days of receiving it, in its original state; the return shipping is at your cost. Prints are made for you and can only be returned when damaged or faulty: send a photo within 7 days and a new print is made.

Your name, address and email are used only to answer you and to ship your order. They are shared with the payment provider and, for prints, with the print studio, and with nobody else. No tracking cookies are set. You can ask at any time what is stored about you, and have it removed.
